Identity Formation in the Pauline Letters

Identity Formation in the Pauline Letters

This group examines the varied ways in which the arguments of Paul's letters contribute to the formation of collective identity among his auditors and how an awareness of these dynamics contributes to our understanding of Paul, his auditors, and the early Christian movement.. We welcome varied theoretical approaches. The group will operate as a seminar with two papers circulated ahead of time to be discussed at each year's IBR meeting. We seek to develop individual articles for submission to peer review journals with a longer range view of encouraging monograph quality work. Conveners are James C. Miller (james.miller@asburyseminary.edu) and Brian Tucker.
