Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary Faculty Opening: Associate Director of Korean-English Bilingual Programs Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (www.ggbts.edu) invites applications for a faculty position involving both administration of Korean-English Bilingual (KEB) MDIV and MTS programs and teaching part-time in the same programs. GGBTS is WASC and ATS accredited and operates five campuses located in: Brea, CA; Mill Valley, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Vancouver, WA; and Denver, CO. This faculty position will be based at the Brea, California Campus, however, may also require occasional course offering(s) at one other campus in the Golden Gate system or online. Duties: Teach 12-15 credit hours yearly of graduate level courses in a discipline supportive of the MDIV; serve as the Associate Director for the KEB programs at the Brea Campus participating in all aspect of program management: recruiting, admissions, course scheduling; adjunct management; student advising, etc.; participate in general faculty responsibilities; conduct scholarly research and writing. Qualifications: Doctoral degree from a regionally or ATS accredited institution in an area of study supportive of the MDIV curriculum (NT, OT, History and/or Theology would be most helpful). The candidate must be fluent in both Korean and English, capable of functioning at a graduate level in both languages. A preferred candidate will have demonstrated administrative competence as well as competence in instruction, a record of scholarly and/or professional research, commitment to collegiality, and ability to participate in distance learning. Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary 201 Seminary Dr. Mill Valley, California Faculty Opening: Old Testament Studies Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (www.ggbts.edu) invites applications and nominations for a trustee elected position inOld Testament Studies. Duties: TheProfessor of Old Testament Studies will teach master's-level courses in Old Testament, Hebrew and/or related fields; must be qualified to provide instruction in the Seminary's Ph.D. program in Biblical Studies; participate in departmental and in general faculty administrative responsibilities; engage in student advising; and conduct scholarly research and writing. The teaching responsibility will be in both master's-level and doctoral-level programs. Campus of residence may be either at the Northern California Campus (Mill Valley, CA) or Southern California Campus (Brea, CA). FACULTY POSITION IN BIBLICAL STUDIES Belhaven University Belhaven University, a Christian liberal arts institution committed to the ministry of integrating faith and learning in every area of life, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biblical Studies to begin July, 2012. Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching survey and upper-level courses in biblical studies and interpretation, advising majors, and participation in various student ministry efforts. The candidate needs to show past success in academic writing and publications. The applicant must also be a proponent of contemporary missions and ministry methods as well as all approaches to worship which do not contradict Scripture. Candidates shall possess a research doctorate in Old Testament Studies, a Master of Divinity or related Master of Arts degree, teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, and evidence of published scholarship or the potential for such. | Responsibilities |
The position includes a teaching load of six courses per year (18 semester hours) in Hebrew and Old Testament Studies. The teaching load will include graduate level introductory courses (e.g., Hebrew, Hermeneutics and OT Biblical Theology) and more advanced exegesis courses. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in a variety of delivery formats (i.e., traditional, intensive, and online). Committee service and routine participation in various forms of institutional governance are also expected. |

Mary French Rockefeller Chair of New Testament Studies Description Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is an evangelical school committed to “advancing Christ’s kingdom in every sphere of life by equipping Church leaders to think theologically, engage globally and live Biblically,” with campuses in South Hamilton, Boston, Charlotte and Jacksonville. Approximately 2,000 students are enrolled in degree programs at the Seminary institution-wide. The main campus in South Hamilton, Massachusetts has approximately 600 full-time residential Master’s students. The Mary F. Rockefeller Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies candidate must be an outstanding scholar who holds a Ph.D. in New Testament and demonstrates leadership in the field. The chair holder must have a history of rigorous academic scholarship and publications, exemplary classroom experience, a commitment to the local church, and a vibrant Christian faith. It is expected that the candidate has significant influence within the evangelical and scholarly communities. The appointment is ranked at full professor and carries continuing status (tenure) as a condition of employment. The position entails a significantly reduced teaching load, with primary teaching responsibilities on the residential campus in Hamilton, Massachusetts. It is expected that the chair holder will represent the Seminary in the wider evangelical community, thus the chair holder is granted a platform fund with the view to promoting the Seminary. Spiritual Maturity The chair holder should be a person of Christian character and deeply committed to the local church. The person should be a team player, demonstrating an ability to work well with colleagues who represent significant diversity within the theological parameters of Gordon-Conwell. The person should be committed not only to academic excellence, but also to the spiritual nurturing of our students at Gordon-Conwell who represent over 100 different denominations from over 40 different countries. Classroom Teaching The person seeking this position must demonstrate competence in classroom teaching. Ability to supervise Master’s level theses is also a requirement. The precise courses taught will be chosen to reflect the particular research interests of the professor, while meeting the needs of the Division of Biblical Studies. In addition, teaching experience or capability in one or more of the following areas is desirable: New Testament Theology, Biblical Theology, and/or New Testament Ethics.
