Position Title:  Divinity School Faculty (Assistant Professor)

Description:  Full-time faculty position

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in New Testament. 

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School is the embedded seminary of Trinity International University (TIU). TIU is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA).  Faculty and staff wholeheartedly affirm the Statement of Faith of the EFCA and adhere to lifestyle expectations set forth in the TEDS faculty handbook. The successful candidate will possess:

  1. Demonstrated teaching ability.
  2. Qualities of character and personality expected in a teacher and counselor of students, and other Christian virtues.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to ministry.
  4. Evidence of theological competence in the handling of scripture.
  5. A terminal degree is ordinarily required for teaching New Testament. (Candidates in the final stages of such a doctoral program may also be considered, if evidence that the degree will be completed before commencing the appointment.)
  6. Demonstrated ability in scholarship and research.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Teach 18 semester hours per year.
  2. Provide leadership for a spiritual formation group.
  3. Contribute to the work of a faculty committee, as assigned by the Dean.
  4. Participate in the spiritual and academic life of the TEDS and TIU community, including chapels, community fellowship events, and prayer days.
  5. Supervise capstone, major papers and theses, as requested.

Start Date:  Anticipated start date is July 1, 2019.
